Simply put, our fees are established at the beginning of our working relationship and are based on our management time, overhead and performance, not on the cost of materials and labor.
How this works: On your behalf, we establish a working construction estimate and fix our compensation based on our expected management time, overhead, and performance. Our compensation does not vary except through written change orders. This Cost plus Fixed Compensation Policy allows us to work with you to control costs. More importantly, it provides the proper incentives to do so. Stone Aspen does not raise compensation fees based on potential risk and does not increase the costs associated with building your home.
Stone Aspen’s Advantage Over What Other Builders Offer: Across our industry, there are two widely accepted methods of compensation for builders:
Fixed Price and
Cost Plus Percentage. Both of these methods, in our opinion, are structured more to the benefit of the builder than they are to the homeowner. We firmly believe this is wrong, and goes against our “customer first” philosophy. Below are two links that will explain in detail how the other two forms of compensation work. Once you read these, we are sure you will agree with us that our “Cost plus Fixed Compensation” method has the homeowner’s best interests at heart.
