Where to Start?
We have additional questions about building a custom home. Will you help answer our questions?
Certainly. Please email or call us. We represent the home building industry and want to make sure that all home owners are taken care of, regardless of budgets, style, size of home or if they use our services. We take all phone calls and return all emails. If we can not help you, we will point you in the right direction.
We would like to get an estimate to build our custom home. Do you provide estimates?
Yes. Over a brief phone conversation we can answer additional questions and set up a time to discuss your vision and our procedures for estimating.
We own our home site and architectural drawings. Will Stone Aspen work with me?
Absolutely. This is common and we have modified our delivery system to meet your needs.
We would like Stone Aspen to build our high country resort home, but it isn't in Grand County. Will you consider building in another area?
Yes. Depending on our current work load, we have the ability to manage projects from Vail to Steam Boat Springs. We can formulate and mobilize a team to accomplish your vision.
Stone Aspen Questions
Where does Stone Aspen build?
We have the capabilities to build throughout Colorado, but our home owners primarily build in Douglas County, Denver, the surrounding area, and Grand County, including Winter Park and Fraser in Colorado.
How many homes a year does Stone Aspen build?
Depending on our home owners’ vision, we feel comfortable building no more than 4 to 6 “custom” homes per year. We will not sacrifice our craftsmanship and service standards for profit.
Do you work with out-of-state homeowners?
Certainly. We are experienced building for out-of-state home owners. We have tailored our selection process to meet the needs of our resort and relocation home owners. If we need to, we will fly to your location for meetings.
I heard that Stone Aspen is known for their high level of craftsmanship, detail and service. What should I expect will be my financial investment in a Stone Aspen home?
Thank you. You might be surprised. Our homeowners’ financial investment and lifestyle requirements vary. We have worked with homeowners’ that require a construction investment of $500K and homeowners’ whose construction investment is well above that amount. None of our homeowners’ required the same financial investment, but we were able to deliver a Stone Aspen home within their financial expecations. Will you quote a price per square foot?
No. Our homeowners are the only ones with the authority to determine the final price per square foot of their home - as they have complete control over their home site selection and level of finish desired. However, Stone Aspen works closely with our homeowners to insure they receive the best craftsmanship, highest level of finish, and ideal square footage with their financial investment in mind.
What size homes does Stone Aspen design and build?
We have the experience and capabilities of building all size homes. This question depends on our home owners’ vision.
Building & Design Questions
Will you build from plans out of a plan book or from an on-line database?
No. We feel that a home needs to be site-specific, properly designed and engineered around our homeowners’ vision. However, looking through on-line databases or plan books is a good place to start for ideas.
Will Stone Aspen build another builder's or architect’s home plans?
This depends. If you “own the rights” to a set of architectural plans or have hired an architect to design your home, then yes. We will not duplicate plans or floor plans unless arrangements are made to purchase the copyright from another builder or architect.
Can I make changes or upgrade materials during construction?
Certainly. We welcome your ideas and input throughout the construction process, and we remain flexible and willing to accommodate changes.
Real Estate Questions
Does Stone Aspen have available home sites?
Sometimes. More often than not, we purchase home sites for our pre-designed homes, which are built by Stone Aspen prior to having a homeowner.
We own our home site. Will you work with us?
Absolutely. Most home owners purchase their homesite prior to contacting a builder or architect.
Will you work with my Realtor while we search for a home site?
Yes. We have developed great relationships with our homeowners’ Realtors and strongly suggest you work with a reputable builder prior to purchasing your home site.
